It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you all to Karachi Metropolitan University (KMU). As
the Founding Vice Chancellor, I am committed to positioning KMU as a leading institution of
international repute, built on a foundation of academic excellence, research innovation, and global
partnerships.
I am pleased to announce that Karachi Medical and Dental College and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital
have been elevated to the status of a university, now known as Karachi Metropolitan University.
This transformation marks the beginning of a new era, as KMU is now a comprehensive university
offering diverse faculties, including Business Administration, Computer Sciences and Emerging
Technologies, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Bio-Medical Engineering, and Pharmacy, among others.
At KMU, we are dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment that equips students with
the knowledge and skills needed for success in the modern world. Each of our departments and
faculties will work in close collaboration with industries to ensure our academic programs are
relevant, innovative, and geared toward real-world applications. We are committed to obtaining
international accreditation for all our programs, ensuring that KMU degrees are recognized and
respected globally.
In addition to providing a world-class education, we have developed an ambitious plan that allows
our medical, dental, pharmacy, and nursing graduates to not only earn their degrees but also
simultaneously prepare for and appear in international examinations within their respective fields.
This will open up global career opportunities for our students, enabling them to compete on an
international level.
We are also dedicated to promoting a vibrant research culture, supported by Faculty Development
Programs aimed at ensuring our educators and researchers remain at the cutting edge of their
disciplines. Additionally, we will offer entrepreneurial and innovation opportunities, allowing
students and faculty to monetize their ideas. With the support of venture capitalists and industry
partners, KMU will provide a platform for turning innovative concepts into viable business
ventures.
Finally, KMU is establishing strong partnerships with leading universities across the US, Europe,
the UK, Turkey, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. Through student and faculty
exchange programs, we will broaden your academic horizons and create invaluable global
networks.
